In the wake of Emperor Palpatine’s rise to power, the true nature of his most sinister enforcer remains a mystery. Yet he finds the Emperor suspiciously supportive of his mission, even sending Vader to the Diso system to investigate rumors of a Force-wielding shaman able to raise the dead. At his side are a cadre of the Emperor’s scarlet-robed Royal Guard, led by Colonel Halland Goth—a decorated soldier with a very personal interest in Vader’s mission.

Even as the Emperor’s true motivations reveal themselves, Vader falls deeper into obsession. His journey takes him far across the galaxy, chasing rumors and phantoms. But no matter how far he travels, he cannot escape the shadows within his own soul. Haunted by the echoes of his past, Vader circles the true resolution to his quest: only once all weakness is purged can he become a master of evil.

Nach dem Aufstieg von Imperator Palpatine zur Macht bleibt die wahre Natur seines finstersten Vollstreckers ein Geheimnis. Darth Vader ist eine dominante, aber schwer fassbare Figur: der Schatten eines böswilligen imperialen Regimes, den nicht einmal seine Spitzenbeamten kennen. Doch selbst als seine Menschlichkeit dem Mythos weicht, wird Vader weiterhin von den Verheißungen der dunklen Seite verfolgt und strebt nach der ultimativen Macht, die sein Meister zwar angedeutet, aber zurückgehalten hat – der Macht, den Tod selbst zu besiegen.

Auf der vulkanischen Welt Mustafar führt Vader ein dunkles Ritual durch, bei dem er einen Kyberkristall zum Bluten bringt, um sein Lichtschwert zu fertigen. Diese Tat setzt eine Macht frei, die weitaus größer ist, als er erwartet hatte, und gibt ihm einen Einblick in das grenzenlose Potenzial der Macht.

Vader ist entschlossen, dieser Vision zu folgen, selbst wenn er sich damit den Befehlen seines Meisters widersetzen muss. Doch der Imperator unterstützt seine Mission verdächtigerweise und schickt Vader sogar in das Diso-System, um Gerüchten über einen machtbegabten Schamanen nachzugehen, der Tote erwecken kann. Ihm zur Seite steht ein Kader der scharlachroten Ehrengarde des Imperators, angeführt von Colonel Halland Goth, einem hochdekorierten Soldaten, der ein sehr persönliches Interesse an Vaders Mission hat.

Selbst als sich die wahren Beweggründe des Imperators offenbaren, verfällt Vader immer tiefer in seine Besessenheit. Seine Reise führt ihn quer durch die Galaxis, auf der Jagd nach Gerüchten und Gespenstern. Doch egal, wie weit er reist, er kann den Schatten in seiner eigenen Seele nicht entkommen. Verfolgt von den Echos seiner Vergangenheit, umkreist Vader die wahre Lösung seiner Suche: Nur wenn er alle Schwächen beseitigt hat, kann er ein Meister des Bösen werden.

Star Wars: The Path of the Lightsaber is an action-packed adventure that takes the reader along on the relatable journey to learn what it takes to actually be able to use lightsaber.
